Repairs to a bridge over the A406 North Circular Road may cause traffic disruption for the next two weekends.

A notice in this week’s Barnet Borough Times from the Barnet London Borough Council states that Colney Hatch Lane, between its junctions with Atlas Road and Orion Road, will be shut while the work takes place.

The first closure will come into force at 11pm on Friday and is expected to last until 5am on Monday.

The same section of road is due to close again from 11pm on Friday, February 12 to 5am on Monday, February 15.

The diversion for traffic will be via Bobby Moore Way, A406 North Circular Road (westbound), A100 High Road and A406 North Circular Road.

Alternatively, traffic should use Atlas Road, A406 North Circular Road, Bounds Green Road, Durnsford Road, Albert Road and Colney Hatch Lane while the weekend closures are in place.

A number of other roadworks are due to start in the area next week, some of which will lead to temporary road closures for more than a month.

Three of these relate to gas main replacement works in the Golders Green Road area, all of which have closure orders in place from Monday.

The first mean Golders Green Crescent, between its junctions with Golders Green Road and Golders Way, is set to close for 35 days.

Another expected 35-day order will come into force on the same day in Hodford Road, between its junctions with Golders Green Road and Accommodation Road.

A further order, this time for 14 days, will close Golders Green Road at its junction with Finchley Road.

A diversion will be in place for these works via Finchley Road (A598), North Circular Road (A406) and Golders Green Road (A502).

Elsewhere from Monday, lead pipe replacement works means Windsor Road N3 will be temporarily closed at its junction with Windsor Close for an expected 19-day period.

The following day Rookery Way, outside numbers 1 to 101 Geneva Court, is set to shut for 11 days due to water supply works.

The alternative route for traffic will be via A5 Edgware Road, Rushgrove Avenue, Rookery Way and vice versa.
