A massage therapist who raped a weeping client in her own home has been jailed for five years.
Cosmin Tudorache, 33, of Dollis Hill, Brent, had been booked for a 90-minute deep tissue massage in south London through Urban Massage on October 6, 2017, with a client who regularly booked massages using the agency.
Part-way through the massage, Tudorache sexually assaulted and raped the victim. He only stopped when he noticed the victim, a woman in her 30s, appeared to be crying.
Today (Friday March 12, 2021) Tudorache was jailed for five years and given a sexual harm prevention order lasting 10 years at Inner London Crown Court. He was also put on the Sex Offenders Register.
He had been found guilty of rape and two counts of assault by penetration following a trial at the same court which concluded in January.
Nathan Paine-Davey, from the CPS, said: “As a professional massage therapist on a house call, Cosmin Tudorache’s actions amounted to a grave abuse of trust. He took advantage of his victim who was alone.
“Tudorache claimed that the sexual activity had been consensual, or at worst – a misunderstanding. But the jury, having heard directly from the victim, decided otherwise.
“I would like to highlight the bravery of the victim who gave evidence during the trial. I hope this conviction goes some way in helping her move forward in her life.
“Sexual offences are some of the most traumatic and complex cases to prosecute, but the CPS will bring offenders to justice where there is the evidence to do so.”
