Motorists in the Barnet area are facing disruption due to temporary road closures for roadworks.

Notices from Barnet Council in this week’s edition of the Barnet Borough Times outline the proposals for the closures in Barnet Lane, Edge Hill Avenue and Tenterden Grove at the start of next month.

A section of Barnet Lane is set to be closed to vehicles for one day on Friday, April 2 to allow for telecoms testing and maintenance work to be carried out.

The work will take place in the area between The Stables Horse Activity Centre and The Barnet Table Tennis Centre, King V playing fields, but only between 9.30am and 3.30pm and access will be maintained from either end of Barnet Lane.

The diversion route at these times will be via Mays Lane, Barnet Gate Lane, Barnet Road, Hendon Wood Lane, Totteridge Common, Barnet Lane and vice versa.

Sewer connection mean Edge Hill Avenue, at its junction with the A406 North Circular Road, is set to be shut to traffic for two weeks.

The proposed order is scheduled to take effect from 8am on April 5 and the diversion will be via the North Circular Road, Beechwood Avenue, Edge Hill Avenue and vice versa.

Tenterden Grove is due to be closed at its junction with Finchley Lane from 8am on April 6 to allow for a new water connection to be laid.

The closure is expected to last for five days and the alternative route for vehicles will be via Tenterden Grove, Tenterden Gardens, Finchley Lane and vice versa.
