A man was arrested on suspicion of drink/drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving between Potters Bar and Enfield.

Police were called at 10.53pm on Saturday July 17 to reports of a crash involving three cars in The Ridgeway (A1005).

A woman was taken to hospital with head injuries. Her condition is not-life threatening.

Two men were also taken to hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

All cars stopped at the scene.

 

A Met Police spokesman said: "A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink/drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

"He was taken to hospital as a precaution and has now been released under investigation."

He said enquiries were ongoing.

Herts Police tweeted at the time: "We are currently assisting at the scene of a serious collision on The Ridgeway A1005 near #PottersBar.

"There are road closures locally including at the Potters Bar Interchange #M25.

"These are expected to remain in place for some time.

"We are urging motorists to avoid the area."
