Several streets in and around Barnet are set to be closed for roadworks, starting with two closures on Monday due to last more than a month.

Notices from the London Borough of Barnet in this week’s edition of the Barnet Borough Times detail the extent of the closures and other restrictions that may be required while the works are carried out.

Gas main replacement works lasting six weeks in the Dollis Road NW7 area are due to start from Monday.

This will involve:

Temporarily closing Dollis Road at its junction with Holders Hill Circus and temporarily closing Dollis Road outside Nos. 117 to 135 – this work is due to take place from Monday to August 2.

Temporarily closing Holders Hill Circus slip road between its junctions with Holders Hill Road and Dollis Road (outside Thornfield Parade) – this work is due to take place from August 2 to August 31.

Business access will be maintained during the Dollis Road closure.

Another lengthy closure in Bell Lane NW4, between its junctions with Alexandra Road and Kings Close, is due to get underway on Monday for lead pipe servicing.

The works are expected to take 37 days to complete but they will be undertaken in three phases: between Alexandra Road and Albert Road; between Albert Road and Hillview Gardens; between Hillview Gardens and Kings Close.

Mostyn Road HA8, outside Nos. 43/45, is due to be shut to vehicles for one day on Wednesday for cabling works.

The following day, repairs on a water valve will get underway between Nos. 59 and 63 Brunswick Park Gardens N11. This work is expected to take five days.

The council is seeking to make an order to close Wentworth Road NW11, at its junction with Portsdown Avenue, to inspect a water valve.

This is due to take place on August 2 and will last only that day.

Work to lay a new water connection between Nos. 107 and 127 Sunny Gardens Road NW4 is also due to start on August 2.

This works is scheduled to take five days but access for residents will be maintained.

Elsewhere on August 2, a 12-day closure of Partingdale Lane NW7, in the vicinity of Frith Manor Cottages, is due to start to reconfigure pipework and to install a new water metre.

Leeside Crescent NW11, at its junction with Princes Park Avenue, is set to be shut to vehicles for one day on August 5 for a water valve inspection.
