Several roads in and around Barnet are set to be temporarily closed for roadworks, starting from tomorrow.

Notices from Barnet Council in this week’s edition of the Barnet Borough Times detail the extent of the closures and other measures that may be necessary while the works are carried out.

Gas mains replacement works are due to close part of Layfield Road NW4 from tomorrow for two weeks.

The road will be shut between its westernmost junction with Brent Park Road and its westernmost junction with Layfield Crescent.

The diversion will be via Layfield Road and Brent Park Road and vice versa.

Another gas main replacement is set to close Brockley Hill HA7, between Cannons Corner Roundabout and its junction with Brockley Avenue, from Monday for 21 days.

The alternative route will be via Spur Road, A41 Edgware Road, Brockley Hill and A5.

Denman Drive South NW11, outside Nos. 50 to 54, is set to be shut to vehicles for two days from October 20 for the repair and renewal of a water service pipe.

Motorists should use Denman Drive North, Oakwood Road and vice versa instead.

A five-day closure of Tapster Street EN5, at its junction with Moxon Street, is due to start on October 25 for the installation of a new gas connection.

The alternative route will be via A1000 High Street and Moxon Street and vice versa.

On the same day, an eight-day closure of a section of Edge Hill Avenue N3 is set to begin to facilitate manhole access.

The road will be shut between its junction with A406 North Circular Road and No. 5 Edge Hill Avenue.

Also from October 25, the road outside No. 47 Dollis Avenue is due to be closed for five days to enable gas connections.

The diversion will be via Dollis Park, Clifton Avenue, Church Crescent and vice versa.

More gas works are set to close Bittacy Road NW7, outside Nos. 27 and 29, for five days from October 25.

Traffic should use Sanders Lane, Bittacy Hill and vice versa.

Well Road EN5, outside No. 23, is also set to be closed for five days from October 25, again for gas connection works.

The alternative route will be via Trinder Road, Well Road and vice versa.
