A man has appeared in court after being charged over an assault that happened after a football match, the Metropolitan Police has said.

Jack Ellicott, 26, from Edgware, has been charged with grievous bodily harm after a 52-year-old man was found with a serious head injury in Uxbridge Road, west London on November 19 following the Queens Park Rovers vs Luton Town game.

The man, from Luton, was taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

Ellicott appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court and will make his next appearance at Isleworth Crown Court on December 20.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Central West basic command unit say they are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything after the match to get in touch by calling 101 quoting the reference number CAD7888/19Nov or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Anyone with mobile phone footage that could be relevant to their investigation is also being urged to contact police.
