A golf club has received a donation of £1,000 from a housebuilder.

The money given to North Middlesex Golf Club is set to go towards the creation of a new, dedicated area for members to wash down their shoes and trolleys after a game.

The donation was made by Taylor Wimpey North Thames which is currently building one and two-bed apartments around a mile away from the golf club at Oakleigh Grove in Whetstone.

After receiving the cash boots, director of golf at North Middlesex Golf Club, Peter Marsh, said: "We are very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their generous donation. North Middlesex Golf Club is a sporting venue enjoyed by many members of our community and we will be putting the funds towards the cost of creating a brand new wash down space for all to make use of.

"We hope this will further enhance our offering to those who enjoy playing at our great club."

Nikki Gibson, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North Thames, added: "We are delighted to hear that our donation to North Middlesex Golf Club will be put towards creating a brand new space and one that all members can make use of.

"Engaging with the communities around our developments is so important to us at Taylor Wimpey and we’re always proud to give back to the local area to help make a difference where we can."
