A man was arrested after Jewish worshippers had eggs thrown at them.

Police say that in the last two Saturdays, March 12 and March 18, there have been reports of Jewish people being attacked with eggs outside synagogues in Edgware.

According to the Met, a silver Ford Mondeo car had a number of passengers driving around Hale Lane who is believed to be behind the attack.

The force said that while there were no serious injuries, the anti-Semitic hate crime was “incredibly distressing”.

The Community Security Trust, a charity supporting the Jewish Company, acknowledged on March 20 they have heard of eggs thrown “over the last two weekends”.

A number of witnesses have already come forward with statements and footage of the incidents, but police still wish to hear from anyone else who can assist their investigation.

A man, 20, was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault – but he was bailed pending further enquiries.
