A murder investigation has been launched after a man in his 30s was stabbed.

Emergency services were called at around 2.45am (May 11) to a flat in Pangbourne Court, High Road, Whetstone.

A man was found injured with stab wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the Metropolitan Police has said the man was pronounced dead at the scene at 3.12am.

A 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He was taken to a north London hospital.

Police say formal identification of the victim has not taken place and enquiries are ongoing to identify next of kin.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command have been informed.

Forensic officers have been seen in the area and there is also police tape.
