A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital after he was involved in a collision with a car earlier today.

Emergency services were called to the A41 in Edgware at around 5.40pm (July 21) with the London Air Ambulance, Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade, and the London Air Ambulance all attending.

The rider of the motorbike has been taken to hospital for treatment. Police have not been able to issue any details of his condition at this time.

The driver of the car involved remained at the scene.

The A41 has been closed eastbound (towards Apex Corner) between Broadfields Avenue and Broadhurst Avenue by police.

A photo on social media indicates the collision happened along the stretch of A41 between those two junctions.

A number of police vehicles are parked along the dual carriageway and it appears a collision investigator is also in attendance.

The A41 was temporarily closed in both directions at one stage to allow an air ambulance to land.

The road has reopened towards Stanmore but remains shut in the direction of Apex Corner with a cordon in place.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
