Renting in London is known to be expensive with the average rent above £800 for most areas. 

However, now new research has revealed the four postcodes in the capital that see an average monthly rent of less than £700.

It comes as research from flatshare site SpareRoom has shared that rent below £700 has dropped down to just four from its original 43 in 2022. 

Now the cheapest postcodes to rent have been revealed, you might want to get looking for a flat soon before the last few areas increase their rent average.

London's cheapest postcodes to rent

South Norwood, SE25

With the cheapest average rent of £680 per month, the area has two rail stations, three tram stops and great connections to central London. 

Plus it's let near South Norwood Lakes, Stanley Arts and the home of Premier League football team Crystal Palace.

Manor Park, E12

Manor Park has the second cheapest rent, coming in at £690 a month. 

The area is described as having acres of great parklands, transport links, an independent business owned by generations of families and much more. 

Plus the opening of the Elizabeth Line means it's just 16 minutes from Liverpool Street.

East Ham, E6

Close by Manor Park, East Ham is near London City Airport and boots a monthly rent of £697 a month.

The area is great for those that want to live close to central London or Canary Wharf without having to splash the cash.

Plus, with nearby links to the District, Hammersmith and City and DLR, it's easy to travel the capital hassle-free. 

Chingford, E4

Near the M25 and close to Epping Forest, you can grab a monthly rent of around £698. 

The spot is great for growing families with plenty of outdoor spaces and is still close to the capital, it works great for commuters too. 

There are connections to central London too, with the Overground taking just 27 minutes to get to Liverpool Street.
