A crime scene is place at a station after a boy was found with suspected gunshot injuries.

The boy, believed to be in his teens, was rushed to hospital where he is currently being assessed after reports of a shooting today (May 23) outside Burnt Oak Underground station.

Emergency services were called to Watling Avenue, to the junction with Orange Hill, in Burnt Oak at 3.21pm.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A male, who is believed to be in his mid-teens, was found at the location with suspected gunshot injuries. He has been taken to a central London hospital where his condition is being assessed.”

One person, whose age has not been disclosed, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

Road closures are in place in Watling Avenue between Orange Hill Road and Barnfield Road, with the station also closed.

Despite the closure, the Northern line appears to be operating normally, according to the Transport for London status tracker.

Bus services including the 114, 204, 251 and 302 are affected.
