Tributes have poured in for a “well-liked” student following his death days after his sudden disappearance.

Many were desperate to find Jack Brazil, 22, after he went missing from Edgware and was last seen on July 3 at around 10pm.

The family of the sports journalist who studied at Southampton Solent University broke the devastating news on Friday (July 7) after missing appeals for Jack were shared to thousands of people.

In a GoFundMe page launched to cover funeral costs, Jack was described as a “true friend to so many”.

The description continued: “To the funniest man I’ve met, I’m proud to call you a best friend. Life will never be the same without you but I hope you’re not in pain anymore.

“Till we meet again Jacky. I know you’ll be waiting with open arms.”

Jack’s dad said: “Our world has gotten a lot less bright and a lot smaller tonight. Forever in our hearts, our blessed son.”

Responding to Jack’s father, who broke the news to his former course mates and friends, many paid their respects and reflected on the “incredibly kind” and “funny” personality of Jack.

One person said: “Definitely one of the most selfless people I ever met, a genuine standup guy who looked out for others and brightened any room he walked into.

“A caring friend, knew how to work hard but also make unforgettable times.”

The Solent Sports Journalism Twitter page said: “We’re really sad to hear about the passing of one of our graduates, Jack.

“He was a bright and well-liked student, who always had a smile on his face and a glint in his eye.”

Metropolitan Police has confirmed that there have been “no suspicious circumstances” behind the death following Jack’s disappearance.

The North London Coroners Court has said that it has been referred to look into Jack’s death, dated as July 7.
