Five teenage boys charged with the murder of Stefan Valentine Balaban are set to face trial next summer.

Four 16-year-old boys and one aged 17 were last week (August 2)charged with the murder of Stefan.

The 19-year-old died in Whitchurch Lane after he was stabbed on July 28.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 1am and attempted to save Stefan’s life along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

A post-mortem examination gave Stefan’s cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

The five boys charged with his murder were remanded in custody after appearing at the Old Bailey on Monday (August 7).

They will all now face trial at the same court from June 10, 2024.

Police said Stefan’s family had been informed of the charges and continue to be supported by specialist officers.
