In response to Mr Khan, making Watling car park free is a non-starter, and Hendon MP Andrew Dismore knows it.
To waive the charge would cost Barnet Council and taxpayers more than £20,000 per year, as the council must pay business rates to Mr Dismore’s Labour Government.
Why should Barnet taxpayers subsidise free parking often used by commuters who may not even live in Barnet?
