A VICTORY against Liverpool is a must if Spurs are to play in the Europa League next season.

Tottenham also require Everton to beat Fulham at Craven Cottage if the Lilywhites are to grab the coveted seventh position that allows qualification for Europe.

While a draw in west London may be enough to secure European football for Spurs, they can not rest on their laurels because Fulham have a superior goal difference compared to the north Londoners.

Tottenham fans will be praying that Everton will not be focusing on their FA Cup final fixture with Chelsea.

Spurs should head to Anfield in good heart because their record against their Merseyside opponents this season is surprisingly good.

A brace a piece from Roman Pavlyuchenko and Frazier Campbell helped Tottenham to victory over Liverpool in the Carling Cup at White Heart Lane.

Tottenham also triumphed 2-1 in the league with an own goal from Jamie Carragher and a late winner from Pavlyuchenko handing Spurs the points.

Since their 5-2 mauling in Manchester, Tottenham are unbeaten in their last three matches although Spurs have the tenth best away form in the Premier League while champions Manchester United are the only team to have a better home record than Liverpool, meaning the Lilywhites should not underestimate the challenge of grabbing a win at Anfield.

The Reds are also the form side at the moment owning the best record of any Premier League side in the last eight matches while Tottenham have the seventh best record over the same period.

Steven Gerrard has had a sensational season for Liverpool scoring 16 goals in the league while Fernando Torres has chipped in with 13.

Darren Bent is Spurs' top scorer with 12 league goals while Pavlyuchenko has hit five goals this season.

Sunday's match at Anfield kicks off at 4pm.
