Today we focus on Stephen Barber, the Liberal Democrat candidate for the Chipping Barnet constituency.

UNIVERSITY worker Stephen Barber specialises in political economy having worked in the City for 10 years before making the move to academia at the London Southbank University.

He has written a number of books on the subject of political economy and has outlined a concept of regulatory cycle of economic behaviour following the banking crisis.

The 35-year-old currently lives in Finchley and has lived in the borough for the last ten years and is standing for the Lib Dems in East Barnet ward in the council elections.

His five key election pledges are: -Opposing the ‘easyCouncil’ plans for Barnet; -Opposing building on the green belt; -Supporting solar panels on public buildings; -Fairness in taxation; -Better government.
