AN EDGWARE drug dealer has been jailed for 30 months after being caught in the middle of a deal by police.

Police stumbled across Joe Till's deal in Gaskarth Road, near Silkstream Park in Burnt Oak on October 19 last year.

However, the 27-year-old fled on his bicycle when he saw the police car approaching and the officers stopped to try and grab the other man, who managed to escape.

A few minutes later they spotted Till, of Symphony Close, riding along Montrose Avenue, but when they tried to stop him he rode around the police car and sped off along the other pavement.

The officers managed to catch up with him, but the only way to stop him was to push him off his bike.

They searched him and uncovered cling film wraps in his jacket pockets with 5.9 grams of crack cocaine and 1.9grams of heroin.

He also had items to link him with drug supply including a roll of cling film, electronic scales, a craft knife blade, cash and five mobile phones.

At Wood Green Crown Court last Wednesday he pleaded guilty to possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and possessing Class A controlled drugs and sentenced to 30 months in jail.
