FLOWERS have been left by friends at the spot where a cyclist was killed after being hit by a driver on a major Edgware road on Monday.

The tributes name the victim as Zoe, and police have confirmed she is 31 and from the Edgware area.

The floral tributes and messages have been left by the on slip to the M1 on the A41 northbound, where she was killed after being hit by an Audi at about 7.30am on Monday.

One read: “To our darling Zoe, We think that God got mixed up the day He called you to rest. But then again, he only takes the best. Love always.”

A tribute from Lara said: “You were not alone and will never be forgotten. I can't find the words but I feel it in my heart.”

Another from Stacey and Pete said simply: “Rest in peace. Always in our thoughts. Lots of love.”

A relative has also used the Times Series website to urge any witnesses to come forward.

The message, posted by Noddy 590, from Houghton Regis, reads: “This is the family of the dead lady cyclist. If there are any witnesses please, please, come forward and contact the police as we want to know what happened to our Lovely Daughter and Exceptional and irreplaceable sister.”

The Audi driver was arrested following the crash but was later released on police bail until June 28 pending further inquiries.

A post mortem is due to take place today and an inquest is set to open this week.

Witnesses are asked to contact the north west London collision investigation unit on 0208 998 5319.
