Designs by foundation degree fashion students took centre stage at London’s Alternative Fashion Week.

Work by Barnet College students Silvana Seseri and Rachael McKenzie-Sealy, both year two, and first year student Lorein Manyika, was featured in the event held at Spitalfields Market last Thursday.

Photographs of the catwalk shows were taken by Efstathia Josif, who is studying for a BTEC National Diploma in Photography at the college, which has a campus in Colindale and a new campus in Wood Street, Barnet.

Mark Phillips, spokesman for the college, said: ”The fashion courses at Barnet College encourage creative design and prepare learners for the challenges of the fashion industry.”

Barnet College will be showcasing the catwalk designs and other art, design and performing arts courses, at the Graseby House open evening on May 6.
