A FAMILY are desperate to be reunited with their pet rabbit after it was given away in a rather unusual fashion from a Hendon shop.

Pauline Fynn left the family rabbit Snowy at her parent's home in Bell Lane while she moved with her son Joshua, 12, to a new home in Newbury Park.

However, she received a distressed phone call on Monday from her mother saying her father had “got rid of the rabbit” but wouldn't say what he had done with it.

He eventually explained he had taken Snowy to the New and Used Furniture Store in Bell Lane and handed him over to the bemused shopkeeper.

However, when Ms Fynn called the shop they told her they had given the rabbit to another family who had come in a few minutes later.

She said: “I couldn't believe it and my father won't say why he did what he did. It's totally bizarre but we're desperate to get Snowy back.

“We've had him for five years and he's part of the family, so I hope whoever now has him sees this and agrees to give him back.

“My son was so upset when he heard about it and now he's desperate to get Snowy back. I have no idea why my father did what he did.”

If you have Snowy or know who was given him by the pet shop please call Ms Fynn on 0208 554 7544.
