FLOWERS have been left at the spot where a Slovakian man was killed after a car veered off the road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Libor Kuchar, 34, was walking home from work with a friend down Hendon Lane, Finchley, when the grey VW Golf mounted the pavement. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Flowers and candles have been left at the spot, close to a bus stop, where two signs asking drivers for information on the crash have also been erected.

One tribute, left by Louisa and written in both English and Slovakian, read: “Our dear friend Libor. Rest in peace! We'll never forget you, you will always be in our heart. We love you, we miss you.”

The driver of the car fled the scene after the crash, but a 20-year-old man has since been arrested and bailed over the incident, pending further police inquiries.
