THE sentencing of a “psychotic” pensioner who admitted attacking a 72-year-old woman at their Cricklewood care home has had his sentencing adjourned again.

William Snell was remanded to a psychiatric hospital to undergo tests after pleading guilty to attacking the woman as she returned to her room in the middle of the night.

Looking frail Snell knelt as though genuflecting towards the judge as he entered and left the dock at Wood Green Crown Court today.

The court heard doctors who were supposed to be compiling a psychiatric report on Snell had been unable to do so because of illness.

The judge gave a month-long extension to his hospital order and asked for a report to be ready for sentencing in a fortnight.
