TWO police officers were attacked by angry teenagers following drug raids on a Grahame Park estate yesterday.
A mob of angry youngsters turned on two PCSOs from the Colindale Safer Neighbourhood Team after two drug raids and building searches around The Councourse just before 5pm.
One officer suffered a dislocated thumb and has been signed off work while the other has bruises to his face and body.
David Allen, a local baker whose shop was searched during the operation, said tensions were running high between youngsters and police after a series of stop and searches were carried out.
Pictures sent to the Times Series show a stand-off between a large number of police and a gang of teenagers shortly after the raids, which started at 3pm.
Police said the idea behind the operation was to sweep the estate for hidden weapons and drug caches and to clamp down on antisocial behaviour at the start of the summer holidays.
Two 16-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of affray and assault and have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
