A PENSIONER who was knocked down in a road smash in East Finchley last week has died.

Police said 86-year-old Anita Cash died at the Royal London Hospital, in Whitechapel, on Tuesday, seven days after the crash.

She was flown by air ambulance to the hospital after the collision with a Honda Shadow 750 motorbike travelling southbound in High Road, close to the junction with Chandos Road, at about 5pm.

Police said the motorcyclist received treatment at the Royal Free Hospital and has since been discharged.

A post mortem to establish the cause of Mrs Cash's death is due to take place at Finchley mortuary tomorrow, and an inquest is expected to open and adjourn at Barnet Coroner's Court on Monday.

Crash investigation officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen the crash to contact police.
