May I enthusiastically follow Phil Colman’s letter (Still another garden centre in this area, Your Views, October 6)?
When, as newlyweds, we moved into Finchley Way back in the middle of the last century and, to our delight, we discovered Finchley Nurseries and have been customers ever since.
Moving gradually away from Finchley over the years, now in a bungalow in far off East Barnet, we do not hesitate to make the journey to Burtonhole Lane, where we find everything we need for our garden, plus a warm and friendly welcome, staff who are genuinely helpful and pleased to see you, plus coffee on a sunny lawn in what appears to be the middle of the Green Belt, and in the autumn, picking one’s own dahlias and crysanthemums for a fraction of the price of a florist.
We are now approaching our 55th anniversary, and hope to continue being customers at Finchley Nurseries.
