A YOUNG television star will officially open a charity shop in High Barnet next weekend.

Daniel Roche who is best known for his role as Ben in BBC One series Outnumbered will cut a ribbon at the launch of the Noah’s Ark store in High Street on Saturday November 12 at 11am

Noah’s Ark will sell a range of seconds-hand items including clothing, DVDs, books and toys to raise extra cash for its work supporting children with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses in Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden and Islington.

Daniel, who lives in Barnet, said: “When I heard about the amazing work Noah's Ark does with life-limited children on my doorstep in North London I was really pleased to be supporting them. And with the new shop opening, I now know where to bring all my stuff when mum tells me to clear out my room.”

Starbucks will serve complimentary cups of coffee to customers in the Noah’s Ark shop and will also be fundraising in their store in the High Street.

Daniel will also be signing autographs until 12.30pm, and children can have their faces painted for a suggested donation of £1.

Kate Gray, the charity’s head of income generation, said: “This is such an important milestone for Noah’s Ark. We are a local charity and opening our first charity shop here in Barnet will not only raise more funds for us, but increase local awareness too.“ Items can be donated to the store from November 10.

If members of the public cannot get to the shop or have large donations, they can contact retail manager Nick Nicolaou on 07713 307119 or email him at nicolaou@noahsarkhospice.org.uk
