MORE than £1500 was raised at a quiz night on the weekend, to assist legal action against the council's permit parking fee increases.

Barnet CPZ Action group held the quiz and auction night at East Finchley Constitutional Club on Saturday.

The event was a fundraiser to contribute to the cost of legal action in the High Court for a judicial review of parking permit prices.

David Attfield, a resident and lawyer leading the legal action, said the night went "brilliantly".

"We sold out and raised over £1500. The auctions and the quiz ran smoothly, It was a really good, fun event."

The event included a raffle, quiz and auction conducted by celebrity auctioneers Barry Jackson and Carolyn Pickles.

Barnet CPZ Action was formed following the increase of Controlled Parking Zone permits in April.
