A teenager who is terrified of heights is taking on a 10,000-ft skydive for charity.
Racheli Landsberg, 18, from Rowsley Avenue, Hendon, hopes to raise cash for a children's charity just 12 days before she sits her A-levels.
Racheli plans to raise £3,000 for Camp Simcha, which supports children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
The Hasmoenian High School student was eight when she lost her best friend to leukaemia and she has also witnessed a close friend recover from cancer.
She said: “I decided I wanted to raise money for something important and meaningful. If I was going to do it wholeheartedly, I needed to choose something no one would expect me to do, so people would feel compelled to up their donation.
“There are loads of cancer charities out there, but I’d heard about Camp Simcha through many of my friends who are volunteers.
"Camp Simcha doesn't just focus on the patient, but also on every individual in the family.
"Through my experiences, I appreciated just how important it is to take care of all members of the family when someone is seriously ill.”
