Campaigners fighting for worthy causes in Barnet can be nominated for a community awards scheme next month.
Students from Hendon School, in Golders Rise, won last year’s Shout Out Award and organisers The Sheila McKechnie Foundation are looking for more inspired groups in 2012.
The prizes recognise and celebrate people across the UK who work tirelessly to take action on issues that matter to them.
The teenagers were recognised for their campaign to raise awareness of conflict materials in mobile phones and encouraging people to recycle them.
To find out more about the awards and to apply or nominate a campaigner, visit www.smk.org.uk. Applications open on April 2 and close at 1pm on June 18.
