London Mayor candidate Ken Livingstone visited Burnt Oak this morning.
The Labour politician spent 30 minutes outside Burnt Oak tube station talking to nearby shopkeepers and passersby.
Mr Livingstone was greeted by a group of about 15 Labour supporters sporting Vote Ken badges and placards.
The candidate seemed relaxed and at ease in the sunshine and was willing to talk to anyone who was interested.
He said: “Barnet’s people should vote for me because in the north of Barnet people will save £1,600 over four years in fares.
“We are going to cut fares by seven per cent, and Boris will increase them by two per cent above inflation each year."
Mr Livingstone also pledged to reduce crime in Barnet by putting more police on the streets.
He gave a short speech detailing his plans, if he were to win the election on May 3.
He then left in his tour bus, but not before offering everyone a free lift to his next stop, Enfield.
During the next two weeks, Mr Livingstone will visit each of London’s 32 boroughs.
