Cllr Cohen has confirmed that four of the borough’s six remaining free car parks will have their proposed charges scrapped.
Cllr Cohen went some way to end the confusion surrounding the issue but said that he was not able to confirm whether or not charges would be introduced in the Osidge Lane or Brunswick Park Road car parks.
However, he did say that they will be scrapped in Egerton Gardens, New Brent Street, Church Hill Road and Quakers Course.
Confusion arose because this morning Cllr Cohen announced that he would not be making a decision about the future of the borough’s last free car parks until next week.
At the same time the Tory party, of which Cllr Cohen is a member, were handing out election flyers announcing that the charges were to be scrapped.
