Boxer Dillian Whyte has pulled out of his fight with Otto Wallin, just a week before the event at the O2 Arena was scheduled to take place.

Whyte has suffered a shoulder injury in training and is now unable to take part.

The heavyweight clash was due to take place on Saturday October 30, with Whyte and Wallin headlining a DAZN show.

It is not known whether the rest of next week's card will go ahead or the whole event has now been scrapped.

There also now remains the question on if the fight will be rescheduled, as the winner was set to take on Tyson Fury for his WBC heavyweight belt next.

What was fan reaction to Whyte pulling out of the fight?

Fans were upset to hear that this highly anticipated fight would not be taking place.

One fan posted on Twitter: "Hearing the Dillian Whyte v Otto Wallin fight might be off due to Whyte sustaining an injury Hope they've got it wrong as I was looking forward to that one!!"

Many people on social media were questioning if Whyte had pulled out to avoid a potential slip-up against Wallin and then miss out on the chance of facing Fury.

One posted on Twitter: "So Whyte wants to go straight into the Fury fight, can’t say I blame him Wallin was a massive risk".

One wrote: "Massive shame. The cynic in me can’t help but think he’s playing the waiting game for the Fury fight and this point who’s to blame him.."

Another said: "Whyte withdrawal makes boxing and business sense. When you’re not only @WBCBoxing mandatory but only available dance partner for @Tyson_Fury heading into 2022 why risk another Povetkin style upset…"
