Police have warned women that a pervert may strike again after two sexual assaults in Mill Hill within the space of three days.

Officers believe the two incidents might be related and have advised women to take care when travelling through the area on their own.

The first attack took place between Mill Hill Broadway Station and Flower Lane at 10 pm on Wednesday, November 19, when a man tried to put his hand down a 35-year-old woman’s top.

She screamed and the man ran off.

The second attack happened in broad daylight, at 9am last Friday. The victim turned into Pageant Avenue, Mill Hill, when a man approached her from behind.

He held her by the neck with one hand while grabbing at her breasts with the other, but the victim was able to fight the man off and ran home.

The suspect is described as 25-years-old and white with short brown hair. On the second occasion he was wearing a black hoodie with white diamond shapes on the front and tracksuit bottoms, and was described as having black, cropped hair.

DS Warren Kennard, of the Barnet sex crime Sapphire Unit, said: “Women should not panic but need to be aware that a man has struck twice within three days and may well try again.

“We have a good description of the suspect and are making every effort to identify and arrest him.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who recognises this description or was in either area at the times of these attacks who may have seen something that could help our investigation to come forward.”
