BBC Question Time will be held at a secondary school this evening just outside the constituency Margaret Thatcher served for more than 30 years.
Producers decided to move the live broadcast from Rochdale to Finchley Catholic High School, in Whetstone, following Baroness Thatcher’s death on Monday, aged 87.
Television crews yesterday began setting up at the Woodside Grange Road school’s gym, which is being transformed into a television studio for the special broadcast.
The current affairs programme, hosted by David Dimbleby, will feature a panel of politicians and writers close to Baroness Thatcher during her political career.
They include Conservative minister Ken Clarke, who was part of the cabinet during Lady Thatcher's reign, former Labour Home Secretary David Blunkett, former Liberal Democrat leader Menzies Campbell, Guardian columnist Polly Toynbee and Lady Thatcher’s authorised biographer Charles Moore.
The programme will be filmed this evening before being aired on BBC One at 10.35pm.
