Finchley Racing Team’s Vince Divine admitted he was disappointed to finish in second place at the Paul Simon Homes LVRC Road Race.
The club were well represented at the event and Finchley showed their intentions early into the race by putting Divine, Nigel Stephens and Lee Rowe in the break.
With three laps of the rolling circuit remaining it was evident the break would not be caught but Ian Knight and Divine moved clear of the group.
However, Knight rode away to victory while Divine had no more to give and he had to settle for second place.
Divine said: "I was disappointed with the result, I should have won but Ian is a strong rider."
At the Whitewebbs ten mile time trail Finchley rider Andrew Hastings clocked a course best time of 20.26 to defeat a small but select field.
