Impressive performances from Finchley ABC boxers at the Junior ABA Championships saw two fighters crowned champions and another reach a final.
First up for Finchley was Jason Mcdonnagh, who took on Charlie Gammon.
Mcdonnagh pressured his opponent from the first bell and both boxers traded punches.
However, a warning for Mcdonnagh for persistent leaning in the last round meant Gammons edged the decision.
Adam Chaima, after receiving two byes into the semi-final, boxed Danny Rider and the gulf in class was evident from the opening bell.
Chaima stalked Rider, delivering long hurtful punches as he backed his opponent up causing the referee to stop the contest in Chaima’s favour in the first round. He will contest his London final today (Thursday).
Next up was Zac Chaima, who took on Tony Buttergey of Lansbury ABC.
The bout was a master class in counter-punching from the Finchley fight and he came out with the unanimous decision.
Finchley’s England representative Eunnis Chaima was also victorious as he stopped Charlie Gervas with a strong right hand in their contest.
