Wingate & Finchley continue to struggle in the Ryman Premier. The Blues were beaten 1-0 by Kingstonian on Monday and ended the match with just nine men.
The K’s went ahead in the third minute as Ryan Moss received a long pass and he calmly slotted past Bobby Smith.
Wingate looked dangerous when they pushed forward but the Blues’ first dismissal came midway through the first half as Bobby Aisien was sent off after he conceded a professional foul.
Wingate saw out the remainder of the half with little fuss, however, Ahmet Rifat was shown a red card for two acts of dissent as the players headed for the tunnel at the interval.
Kingstonian failed to make the most of their advantage in the second period and were lacklustre in possession.
Wingate defended well while substitutes Hector Morante and Anton Olondo both had shots from distance saved. The two efforts were as close the Blues came to equalising.
In the closing minutes, Smith was left exposed and committed a foul. A penalty was awarded but Andre McCollin’s spot kick struck the post.
The defeat leaves Wingate 18th in the table and seven points clear of the relegation zone.
