Jake Hyde may have scored winning goals in Barnet’s last two matches but Ulrich Landvreugd says “the most important thing is Jake is helping the team”.

Hyde is the Bees’ top scorer this season and has found the net 11 times. However, he missed a large part of the campaign with an ankle ligament injury.

His goal tally has been achieved in just 20 matches with the last two being scored in 2-1 and 1-0 victories against Grimsby Town and Wrexham.

Landvreugd praised the striker and believes the defensive side of his game has improved since returning from injury.

He explained: “The difference between Jake before his injury and Jake now is he was pleased to score but we would lose 2-1 or 3-1.

“We said to him you can work harder and then the team scores. You can’t have it better than now though because the team scores and he is scoring.

“The most important thing is Jake is helping the team out defensively and then the team can help him out attacking wise.”
