Hendon manager Gary McCann was frustrated and philosophical about Saturday’s postponed match against Bury Town.
The Greens boss admitted he was “desperate to play” but accepted the decision to call off the clash.
He said: “I am frustrated that we didn’t play but philosophical because we had to make an early inspection because of the long journey that Bury had to make. We didn’t want them coming all that way and the match being postponed.”
He continued: “We were desperate to play as we are in a good place right now and we wanted to push on after the excellent performances and results against Kingstonian, Wealdstone and Bognor Regis. When you have a run like that you want to keep the momentum going.
“We have got a very busy end to the season and this week sees us playing on Tuesday and Thursday before the game at Metropolitan Police on Saturday. With the schedule we have, we can’t put out the same players four times in a week.”
The Greens take on strugglers Carshalton Athletic this evening before a Middlesex Senior Cup tie against Hampton & Richmond Borough on Thursday.
McCann added: “If you want to get your football fix, you certainly won’t be found wanting watching us until the end of the season, you’ll be seeing us two and three times every week.”
