Kieran Cadogan has left Barnet after head coach Martin Allen said he couldn’t see the midfielder fitting in with the club’s future plans.

The 23-year-old joined the Bees in October. He had been without a club since the summer after leaving Aldershot Town.

He went on to make 23 appearances for Barnet in all competitions, the last of which came on March 18 against Macclesfield Town.

Allen used the two games over the Easter weekend to assess his squad. Jack Saville and Cadogan were the only first-team players not to feature in either the 1-0 win over Nuneaton on Saturday or Monday’s draw against Braintree.

Saville’s absence was due to a toe injury while when asked about Cadogan, Allen said: “Two or three weeks ago I had 28 players on board.

“I was looking around and wondering how I was going to do this. So I think it was right to tell Kieron that he could seek other opportunities.

“He has done well from what I was told by the coaches but I couldn’t see him fitting in to where we are going to go.”
