Valentin Gjokaj believes his loan stay at Barnet has benefitted him and hopes he has been of benefit to the Bees too.
The 20-year-old Albanian defender joined Barnet on loan in February and has been a mainstay of the side since playing 13 times and forming a good partnership with recently-crowned Player of the Year David Stephens .
One of only three players to play both matches during the Easter period as head coach Martin Allen shuffled his pack - along with Stephens and Andy Yiadom - Gjokaj says his time at The Hive has been beneficial.
"At my age all that matters is playing games. It doesn't matter what level, it's just about playing games and I'm happy that I could sign sign on loan for Barnet," said Gjokaj after the 1-0 win at Nuneaton Town.
"They're a great club and they've been great from the first day since I came here and I've showing some great performances here I'm trying to help the team.
"For me, it benefits me, it's good for me and I think I'm helping the club as well," continued Gjokaj.
The Derby County loanee got the winner against Nuneaton in stunning fashion, thrashing home from 20 yards - just his second goal in professional football after opening his account against Forest Green Rovers earlier in the month.
"I haven't hit many like this," admitted Gjokaj. It's always a pleasure to score a goal like this and it was an important goal - a winning goal."
Allen brought a number of younger players into the side at Nuneaton and despite being relatively young himself, Gjokaj feels he was able to help the youngsters.
"I've played a few games, so I think they expect me to help them, that's what I've tried to do," explain Gjokaj.
"All the lads are great they've been training great and they deserve the chance. They've been brilliant the young lads and they played absolutely well."
