Barnet are up to 11th in the National League table after Wesley Fonguck’s second-half brace ended a four-game winless run with a 2-0 victory over Solihull Moors at the Hive.

The 21-year-old was in the right place to finish off some fine work from Josh Walker and break the deadlock with his third goal of the season on the hour mark.

The goal was the first Solihull had conceded in 452 minutes of the competition and they were to let in a second in the ninth minute of stoppage time when Fonguck netted again after Jack Barham had cut the ball back.

With new loan signing Manny Duku leading the line, the debutant had earlier gone close to breaking the deadlock, as had Walker and Fonguck.

The best chance fifth-placed Solihull created came in the first half when Adi Yussuf saw a strike tipped over by Mark Cousins.

Barnet: Cousins; Alexander, Robson, Adams, Tutonda, Taylor, Jules, Fonguck, Sweeney, Walker (Barham 75), Duku (Mason-Clark 90). Subs not used: Matrevics, Sparkes, Elito.
