Barnet got back to winning ways after suffering consecutive defeats with a 2-0 victory over lowly Dover Athletic at the Hive.

Second-half goals from Jack Taylor and Mauro Vilhete secured the win and lifted the Bees up to 14th in the National League table, 11 points outside the play-off zone.

After a goalless opening period, the Bees should have gone in front when Ephron Mason-Clark rounded goalkeeper Mitch Walker, but he could only hit the crossbar with his attempted finish.

However, the deadlock was to be broken five minutes later when a long Callum Reynolds pass picked out Taylor and he volleyed beyond the Dover keeper.

Vilhete, who was a late addition to the bench after Craig Robson had been forced out of the warm-up, came on for his first appearance of the season when he replaced Mason-Clark in the 69th minute. And the substitute capped it in style in injury time, converting after being sent clear by Byron Harrison to make sure of the victory.

Barnet: Cousins; Alexander, Johnson, Fonguck, Taylor, Reynolds, Adams, Elito, Sweeney, Mason-Clark (Vilhete 69), Duku (Harrison 46). Subs not used: Matervics, Coulthirst, Bettamer.
