Stuart Attwell has been named as the match official for Watford's game against Manchester United at Old Trafford this weekend.

Attwell, famous for awarding Reading's 'ghost goal' at Vicarage Road in a Championship game back in September 2008, has only taken charge of two Hornets' fixtures since, both in 2014.

Firstly he oversaw a 1-1 draw at home to Burnley in the 2013/2014 season before refereeing a 4-2 away win at Cardiff in the following campaign.

Conversely he has been in charge of three United games this season, including the Red Devils' League Cup defeat against Derby County during which he sent off goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

Furthermore, Roger East will referee Tuesday night's rescheduled home fixture against Fulham.

East was last in charge of a Watford game when the Hornets drew 1-1 against Newcastle at Vicarage Road in December last year.

He also refereed the same fixture last season, with Watford running out 2-1 winners.
