Watford will sign Le Havre's Pape Gueye before sending him out on loan to Udinese, according to various reports.
The Mail Online has reported the move in the UK, while other publications in France, where Gueye currently plays with Le Havre, have also published similar stories.
The reported loan to fellow-Pozzo club Udinese is a move that has been seen before, with several Hornets players, including Ben Wilmot, Stefano Okaka and Marvin Zeegelaar, making the switch last season.
The 20-year-old midfielder has represented France at both Under 18 and Under 19 levels.
Elsewhere, other reports have linked Watford with moves for West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson and Bristol City's Adam Webster.
