Watford's Pervis Estupiñán was involved in a dramatic 3-0 win for RCD Mallorca, who overcame a 2-0 first-leg defeat against Deportivo la Coruña to gain promotion to La Liga.

The left-back spent last season on loan with the Spanish club and on Sunday evening helped them retain their top flight status with their play-off victory.

Deportivo took a 2-0 aggregate score into the match, but goals from Ante Budimir and Salva Sevilla levelled the tie before an 82nd minute striker from Abdon Prats won the game for Mallorca.

Watford's loanee Estupiñán had already been reportedly linked with a move to a club in La Liga next season, with Segunda Division champions Osasuna believed to be keen on acquiring his services.

The Ecuadorian has also spent time on loan with other Spanish clubs, including Almeria and Granada.
