The Barnet Sunday League returned this weekend with just one game as Highgate Albion got their season off to the perfect start with a 2-1 win against Borehamwood Rovers.
James Pavely gave Albion the lead in the first half when he rounded the keeper, beat two defenders and slotted in from close range.
Midway through the second half, Rovers’ equaliser came but Joe O’Connor was the hero for Albion, popping up with an excellent finish to hand Albion the points.
They next face last season’s Junior Cup winners Antalonians at Hurst Avenue.
