Alexandre Lacazette will miss Arsenal’s trip to Watford on Sunday after being ruled out with an ankle injury.

The 28-year-old striker, who has scored two Premier League goals this season, has been playing with the problem but the Gunners have stated he is now set to be sidelined until next month.

A statement on the Arsenal website reads: “After assessments to an ongoing ankle issue, we have advised that Alex will need to rest and strengthen his ankle to regain full fitness.

“Alex has been playing through this injury for several weeks. He is likely to be back in action in October.”
